Preliminary findings indicate that an 80-year-old man, identified as Myron Rust, was traveling northbound on Dixie Highway when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with Lingar’s southbound vehicle.

Lingar sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Traffic Reconstruction Team Assists Investigation
