Chuck Masterson Obituary Death: Dragon Community Mourns Beloved Bus Driver

Chuck Masterson, a longtime bus driver and valued member of the Dragon community, has passed away, leaving students and colleagues mourning his loss.

Masterson had been part of the Dragon transportation team for more than four years. During that time, he became a familiar and appreciated presence among students and staff, contributing to the school community through his work transporting students safely.

In addition to his regular transportation duties, Masterson transported many of the school’s athletic teams to events. His involvement with student activities extended beyond simply driving teams to their destinations, as he regularly showed support for students and their accomplishments.

Masterson was especially known for his support of the cheer program. He never missed a cheer competition, even on occasions when he was not the assigned bus driver. His continued presence demonstrated the connection he had developed with students and the activities they cared about.

Following his passing, grief counselors and social workers are scheduled to be available at SCHS, SCMS, Elms Road Elementary, and the bus garage beginning tomorrow. The support services are intended to assist students and staff as they process the loss.
